QuickHash v2.8.0 for Apple Mac OSX

OK, as promised in my recent blog posts, here is the eagerly anticipated release of Quickhash v2.8.0 for Apple Mac OSX operating systems. This brings all the great new features and improvements of the program that Windows and Linux users get, to Apple Mac users. Now, every time I create an Apple Mac release, I have some issues from some people. OSX is just a weird platform. Please note I do not have a decent or modern Apple Mac. It's a ten year old Mac Mini with 2Gb of RAM that JUST manages to run Yosemite, at a push. So [...]

QuickHash Debian Packages for 32 and 64 bit Linux

As mentioned in the v2.8.0 for Linux download section, these are the two Debian packages prepared kindly by fellow developer Dareal Shinji https://github.com/darealshinji. You can install QuickHash as part of your main Linux system using dpkg on the command line or your Debian package manager software. QuickHash v2.8.0 for Windows

This download includes two pre-compiled executables of QuickHash - one for 32-bit systems and one for 64-bit systems. You can use the 32-bit version perfectly well on both 32 or 64 bit versions of Windows. For most areas of the utility, there is little difference in performance. However, the newly added xxHash is said to perform a little better on the 64-bit platform. There is also a set of files in C:\Program Files on 64-bit versions of Windows that are presented differently by the operating system - if you intend to hash those, you should use the appropriate version for [...]

QuickHash v2.8.0 for Linux

This download includes two pre-compiled binaries of QuickHash - one for 32-bit systems and one for 64-bit systems. Unlike Windows platforms, you must use the appropriate one for your system architecture. 64-bit is recommended, especially in light of the newly added xxHash hash algorithm that better utilises 64-bit CPU and memory space. After extracting files from the zip archive, be sure to check that the binary you wish to run has executable permission. If not, give it that by using : chmod +x QuickHash-Linux-v2.8.0-64Bit or chmod +x QuickHash-Linux-v2.8.0-32Bit The full download zip also includes a README.txt and a PDF user [...]

Debian Package v2.7.0 for Linux

I am delighted to list this - the first Debian package for any Linux system based on the Debian packaging system. By installing the package, the program will be listed in your repoistory and the main Menu with an icon, meaning you can launch the program from the menu or by simply typing 'quickhash' into your terminal. I am hoping that with a little refining, the package might be included as part of the official Debian Linux distribution. But for now, please use and report any general issues (http://34.225.163.28/answers/) or use the Bug Tracker (http://34.225.163.28/bug-tracker/) To install, download the tar [...]

QuickHash v2.7.0 for Windows

This is version 2.7.0 of Quickhash-GUI for Windows. It comes with some eagerly anticipated improvements and some quite big areas of change (see the release notes in the Readme.txt file). Suffice to say that as this is a X.X release, there will likely be lots of improvements in the coming weeks and months and I ask users to use the bug reporting area to notify me of issues. I test a new release as much as I can but my tests are not the same as real life usage. The bug tracker can be found here : http://34.225.163.28/bug-tracker/ Provide as [...]

QuickHash v2.7.0 for Linux

This is the latest v2.7.0 of QuickHash for Linux. Note that it will only work with graphical Linux systems like Linum Mint, Elementary OS, Ubunut etc. It will not work with command line only distributions, typically server systems and so on. Note that there is a 32-bit and 64-bit version. You must use the appropriate one for your architecture. No installation is needed however. Simply ensure the binary has executable permission (chmod +x NameOfBinary). You don to need to be root or sudo to run it for most aspects, but if you need to hash physical disks with it, then [...]

Quickhash v2.7.0 for Apple Mac OSX

This is the latest v2.7.0 of QuickHash-GUI for Apple Mac OSX systems. It was compiled using Yosemite but should work on El Capitan and Sierra as well. I only have one (old) Apple Mac PC so if this does not work on your system, let me know. You need to ensure it is executable (chmod +x NameofBinary) and that your Mac is set to allow programs to run "from anywhere" in the Security settings. Quickhash v2.6.9.2 for Apple Mac OSX

With v2.0 of the program came the new tabbed interface. The first released version of v2.0 can still be downloaded from Sourceforge (until further notice) but they all led up to the current release of v2.6.9.2 and is, as of Dec 2016, the latest version. Some thought was given as to whether every single release from v2.0 to 2.6.9.2 should be hosted here, but somehow the need does not seem obvious to me. As long as the latest is here, along with the first and middle versions, that is perhaps sufficient. Anyone who wants the entire release history of the [...]
